2 28 oz cans of Marzan...Great Italian sauce Recipe

2 28 oz cans of Marzano Italian Tomatoes
4 strips of bacon chopped
1 ½ Cups of chops onions
Two garlic cloves chopped
1 Cup of grated carrots
1 table spoon of Thyme finely chopped
Olive Oil (EVOO)
Salt and Paper to taste

1. Sautee bacon in about two teaspoons of EVOO until cooked through…. You can discard the bacon if you want (I don’t)
2. If needed add more EVOO and throw in onions and garlic until transparent for about 3-4 minutes
3. Throw in carrots and thyme and sauté for another 4 minutes
4. Through in tomatoes and bring to a boil….. then lower to simmer and let cook for about 30 minutes
5. Mash tomatoes with potato masher and simmer for another 15-20 minutes
6. Salt and pepper to taste
Serve with any kind of pasta and sprinkle with Italian or regular parsley.

This sauce can be used for anything that calls for Italian parsley….. simple make and tasty….and cheap. I usually make a large batch and freeze for later.. The key to the great taste are the Italian Marzano tomatoes.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14321361685073575458noreply@blogger.com
